HomeWorks and RadioRA 3: what goes wrong, and what we do
Lutron hardware is famously reliable. What ages is the programming around it: a HomeWorks system commissioned for the previous owners, a RadioRA 3 processor whose app was never finished, keypads whose buttons drifted from what the engraving says, dimming curves never set for the LED fittings that replaced the halogens. None of it needs new hardware. It needs a certified engineer with the manufacturer's software, a plan for how the family actually uses the house, and an afternoon room by room with the owners present.
That is the standard job. We reprogram scenes and timeclocks, set proper trim levels and fade times for the fittings you have now, sort out the app and the integration with whatever else the house runs (Control4, KNX, a Crestron layer), and hand the project file over.
Lost project files and locked processors
A Lutron system without its project file is the most common Dubai inheritance. The previous contractor kept it, or never saved it, or the laptop it lived on is gone. On HomeWorks and RadioRA 3 the processor itself holds enough to recover the programming, and access to a processor nobody can log into is regained through Lutron's own process for certified dealers, not by guesswork. We rebuild the project, document every keypad and load, and store it in your Client Portal so the next change is a small one.
Keypads, engraving and adding shades
Engraving is where a Lutron system shows its age fastest: a nursery becomes a study, a cinema arrives, a button says Pool when the pool lights were rewired. Because we programme the system, we specify the engraving from the programme, so the words on the wall are always what the button does. Keypad ranges can be upgraded in place, Palladiom or Alisse on the same wiring, and the same visit is the right time to add shading: Lutron blinds or curtain tracks join the existing processor, wired where cabling exists and battery where it does not, on the same keypads and in the same scenes as the lighting.
Takeover, then support
When the previous company is no longer in the picture, the Lutron work is part of a takeover: an audit of everything installed, the programming and project rebuilt, and the system placed under Iconic Care™ with remote-first support from the engineers who did the work. If the house also runs Control4 or KNX, the takeover covers those too, so there is one dealer of record and one number to call.
