yacht remote controls and handheld control in Dubai

One remote in every space, and it simply works.

Guests pick up one remote in the saloon and it does everything in that space: lights, screen, music, blinds. Crew reach the same system from a phone or tablet on the vessel's own Wi-Fi. Nobody hunts for the right handset.

We fit this for owners' representatives, captains and yacht managers in Dubai Harbour, Dubai Marina and Port Rashid, and for refit yards in Dubai and Abu Dhabi. The controllers stay in the climate-controlled interior, and every handheld device stays within the range its manufacturer publishes.

Who this is for

Handheld control suits any vessel where guests should never need a briefing and crew need the system from wherever they are.

  • Owners' representatives who want one remote per space and nothing on the coffee table resembling a bridge console.
  • Captains and chief stewards who need lighting, audio and video from a phone in the galley or the crew mess.
  • Yacht managers and refit yards replacing a drawer of mismatched handsets after a change of AV.
  • Charter operations where a new party arrives every week and has to be comfortable within minutes.

What MK Iconic does

How we deliver it

Map the spaces

We survey every guest space, cabin and crew area and agree what each remote does there. One remote per space is the rule, with pages and favourites set for that space only, so a cabin remote never shows the saloon.

Specify within the ratings

Control4 rates the Halo and Halo Touch remotes for indoor use, 0 to 35 °C, with a note to avoid direct sunlight, so they stay in the saloon and cabins. Sundeck and flybridge control comes from a tablet in a shaded dock, or from a weather-rated keypad where the manufacturer rates one.

Dock, label and hand over

Charging docks go where remotes naturally rest. Scene names are written in Arabic and English where the owner wants them, and the wall keypads beside the remotes are engraved to match. We train the captain, chief steward and ETO before guests arrive, then the vessel sits under Iconic Care™: remote monitoring, status in the client portal, and a fault reported by WhatsApp, email or phone is logged as a ticket.

Control4

Control4 Halo and Halo Touch

Halo is the button remote for guests who want to press one thing. Halo Touch adds a screen for browsing sources, scenes and favourites. Both drive lighting, blinds, climate and AV through the Control4 controller in the technical space.

Control4 rates both for indoor use between 0 and 35 °C and says to avoid direct sunlight. We treat that as a hard limit: they stay in the air-conditioned interior. MK Iconic is a Control4 Diamond Dealer.

Best for: Saloons, cabins, dining and any interior space with a screen or music

Crestron

Crestron TST-1080 wireless touch screen

The TST-1080 is a handheld 10 inch touch screen with its own dock, running the same custom interface as the wall screens on board. It suits the main saloon, the owner's suite and the bridge.

Crestron publishes an indoor operating range for it and we specify inside that range, in conditioned spaces. Crestron has a dedicated marine programme, and MK Iconic is a Crestron dealer in Dubai.

Best for: Owner's suite, main saloon and the bridge on Crestron vessels

The Control4 and Crestron Home apps

Crew phones and tablets run the vendors' own apps on the vessel's Wi-Fi: the Control4 app or the Crestron Home app. Crew see every space; guests who want the app see only their own.

Shaded, docked tablets give sundeck and flybridge control without putting an indoor-rated remote in the sun. Access is per user and ends the day a crew member signs off.

Best for: Crew control from anywhere on board, and guests who prefer their own phone

Questions

Yacht remotes: questions we get asked

Can a Control4 Halo remote live on the sundeck?

No. Control4 rates them for indoor use between 0 and 35 °C and says to avoid direct sunlight; a Dubai sundeck is outside that most afternoons. The sundeck gets a docked tablet in the shade; the remotes stay inside.

Will guests need a briefing?

They should not. Each remote controls only the space it is in, with the same layout everywhere, so a guest who has used one has used them all. Crew control lives on the crew's own devices, never on a guest remote.

Does crew control work away from the berth?

On board, yes. The apps talk to the controller over the vessel's own Wi-Fi, so they do not need shore internet. Control from ashore depends on the vessel's connectivity, which your comms contractor provides.
