Lutron commercial lighting control in Dubai

Light that answers the building, not the switch.

Lutron is the lighting control most Dubai consultants specify for offices, hotels and retail. It dims cleanly, scales from one room to a whole tower and lasts for decades. We have twelve years working with Lutron and are Lutron approved and certified on HomeWorks, RadioRA 3, Lutron Shading and Palladiom Shading. We design, install, programme and look after it from Dubai.

Fitting out a floor in DIFC, opening a hotel on Palm Jumeirah or inheriting a Quantum building in Business Bay, we will tell you which Lutron system fits and what it needs from the electrical design.

Who this is for

  • Office fit-outs and headquarters with tunable light, daylight harvesting and occupancy control
  • Hotels and serviced apartments wanting one Lutron dashboard from guest rooms to lobbies and restaurants
  • Retail, F&B and showrooms where scenes change through the day and shading follows the sun
  • Developers and consultants who need a specified, documented system that passes handover
  • Facilities managers with a Lutron Quantum estate that needs maintenance, an upgrade or a move to Athena
  • Mixed-use towers with commercial floors and private residences on one Lutron platform

What MK Iconic does

How we deliver it

Survey and system choice

We walk the building or read the drawings, count the zones and blinds and check the load types, then recommend Athena, myRoom XC or Quantum, or a mix, and explain why in plain terms.

Design and coordination

We produce panel schedules, keypad layouts, DALI-2 and 0-10V driver lists and network requirements, coordinated with your MEP consultant and fit-out contractor so nothing clashes on site.

Installation, programming and commissioning

Our Dubai engineers install the hubs and keypads, address every driver and programme scenes, schedules and daylight sensors, then commission with you in the room until the light looks right.

Aftercare with Iconic Care™

After handover you get remote monitoring and a client portal with service reports and system status. Report a fault by WhatsApp, email or phone and it is logged as a ticket.

The Lutron systems we specify

Lutron

Lutron Athena

Athena is Lutron's current lead system for specified commercial projects. It runs wired devices on QS link, DALI-2 and 0-10V, and wireless devices on Clear Connect, including Type X for the Athena Wireless Node and Ketra fixtures, so zones can be added or moved without opening a ceiling.

It scales by room, floor or building, from a single space to an entire property. The cloud dashboard shows real-time energy data and system health, and Lutron's API links it to your BMS and AV.

Best for: Offices and fit-outs, retail and F&B, hotel public areas, new build and retrofit

Lutron

Lutron myRoom XC

myRoom XC, formerly myRoom, is Lutron's guest-room system: lighting, shades and room temperature from bedside keypads, a master off and the hotel's app, with a Palladiom thermostat and fan-coil controller.

Guest Presence Detection knows when a room is empty, sets back the temperature, switches off the lights and can tell housekeeping. It interfaces with your PMS and BMS and shares one Lutron dashboard with Athena, while residences on the same property run on Lutron HomeWorks.

Best for: Hotel and resort guest rooms, serviced apartments and aparthotels

Lutron

Lutron Quantum

Quantum is Lutron's established server-based whole-building platform: centralised lighting and shade control, scheduling and energy reporting through Quantum Vue, rated by Lutron for over 10,000 devices across a building or campus.

Lutron now calls Quantum a legacy system and points new projects to Athena. We maintain and take over Quantum buildings, carry out the Quantum 3.4 upgrade and plan staged migrations to Athena with Lutron's Edge Processor conversion kit.

Best for: Existing Quantum buildings that need maintenance, takeover, an upgrade or a staged move to Athena

Questions

Lutron commercial lighting: questions we get asked

Which Lutron system should a new office fit-out use?

Athena, in most cases. It is Lutron's current system for specified commercial work, handles DALI-2 and 0-10V drivers as well as wireless keypads, and grows by room, floor or building. If the landlord runs Quantum in the base build, we can tie the floor in or run Athena alongside it.

Can you take over a Lutron system someone else installed?

Yes, whoever installed it. We start with a health check of the processors, panels and programming, fix what is failing and give you a written plan for upgrades or migration.

Is Quantum being discontinued?

No. Quantum is still listed and supported by Lutron, with Quantum 3.4 the current release. Lutron calls it a legacy server-based system, recommends Athena for new projects and publishes an upgrade path between them. We help you decide whether to maintain, upgrade or migrate.
