Agree the interface plan

We list every space and decide what sits where: touch screens in the saloon, dining area and owner's suite, a keypad at each bedside and door, a crew screen in the galley or crew mess. Guest pages get a handful of buttons; crew pages carry everything.

Match finishes, engrave, set permissions

Keypad finishes are sampled against the joinery and hardware on board, in metal or glass, and buttons are engraved in Arabic and English in the owner's wording. Permissions are set per device: a cabin keypad controls that cabin; the bridge and crew screens see every zone, the CCTV and the vessel data pages.

Install inside the ratings

Control4, Crestron and Lutron rate these screens and keypads for indoor use, so we keep them in the air-conditioned interior. On the sundeck and flybridge we use a shaded tablet or a weather-rated part where the manufacturer rates one. Iconic Care™ then monitors the system, with status in the client portal.

Control4 T5 touch screens and keypads

The T5 Series is Control4's current touch screen, in-wall or tabletop, and like the rest of the range it is an indoor device for the climate-controlled interior; the earlier T4 Series is end of life and we no longer specify it. Control4 wireless configurable keypads take engraved buttons and come in 240 V variants for the vessel's supply.

Everything runs through the Control4 controller in the technical space, so the saloon screen and the crew's phones are one system. MK Iconic is a Control4 Diamond Dealer.

Crestron

Crestron 70 and 80 Series, Horizon and Cameo

Crestron's 70 and 80 Series touch screens, the TS and TSW-770, 1070 and 1080, carry a custom interface built for the vessel; the TST-1080 is the wireless version for the owner's suite or the bridge. Horizon and Cameo keypads add engraved, backlit buttons in metal finishes that suit yacht joinery.

Crestron has a dedicated marine programme, and MK Iconic is a Crestron dealer in Dubai. The screens and keypads are indoor-rated and stay in the conditioned interior, with the processor in the technical space.

Best for: Larger vessels with custom interfaces and deep vessel-system integration

Lutron

Lutron Palladiom and Alisse keypads

Where lighting and blinds run on Lutron HomeWorks, Palladiom and Alisse keypads give flush metal and glass faces with engraved, backlit buttons at each bedside and door, matching the Palladiom thermostat so the cabin reads as one set of controls.

Lutron rates both for indoor use. MK Iconic is Lutron approved and certified on HomeWorks, RadioRA 3, Lutron Shading and Palladiom Shading, with twelve years working with Lutron.

Yacht touch screens and keypads: questions we get asked

Can the touch screens go on the flybridge?

Not these ones. Control4's T5 touch screens and Crestron's 70 and 80 Series are interior devices. On the flybridge and sundeck we use a shaded, docked tablet or a part the manufacturer rates for the weather.

Can guests change settings they should not?

No. Permissions are set per device, so a cabin keypad controls that cabin and only the bridge and crew screens carry the whole vessel. Nothing a guest can reach changes the configuration.

Can the keypads be engraved in Arabic?

Yes. Control4 keypads, Crestron Horizon and Cameo, and Lutron Palladiom and Alisse all take custom engraving, in Arabic, English or both. Proofs go to the owner's representative before anything is cut.
